Subverse Review: The Most Adult Space RPG

Subverse is an RPG set in space in some future that looks anything but decent. Weed smuggling and space combat, sexy waifus assisting you in battles and monsters you meet – the result is here to challenge the morals. Curious? Download Subverse, and then try to stop playing it!

Higher Than the Space

So, the presume is that you are the captain of the unique spaceship for weed smuggling. The entire universe likes to get high! Gradually you upgrade the ship and unlock a new section for new types of operations. The illegal business you run is the sort that promises to deliver a lot of incredible situations and tons of fun.

But what your character is in it for is a chance to attract sexy girls from all over the Galaxy. Earn their affection and drag them to bed! There is a special section on your ship for that very important purpose. And, frankly speaking, that’s what the game has been made for.

Parody as a Building Method

Every element of Subverse is something we have seen before. Space fights are typical shmups. Planet raids are inspired by too many mobile MMORPGs to list. Base-building is just common. Alien races you encounter are commonplace too. The combination of these elements, nevertheless, saves the game from being boring.

The better thing about this all is that none of these goes decent. There are sexy waifus that assist you in battles. There are explicit definitions you give to your enemies. There are monsters that look both terrifying and funny. The game does everything not to be taken too seriously, being a funny adult space comedy.

The studio that develops this game is well known for its animated adult videos. Enough said; you should have guessed as soon as you saw the name – StudioFOW. No sooner it is legal for you to play this game than you can legally drink, drive, or get married. No wonder that hardly will you see anyone streaming it on Twitch.

But if you like Subverse, you may want to check other projects by the same developers. Until 2019, they specialized in 3D hardcore animation, and it’s the sort of video you can’t unsee. Now StudioFOW has spawned a division named FOW Games, so we soon can meet something even more insolent and unleashed.

No wonder Subverse focuses on attractive waifus that form the majority of the cast. Blondes and brunettes, humans and humanoids, each of them got more attention than entire unhuman species! And that’s what fans expect from StudioFOW, crediting the project on Kickstarter way higher than expected.

Subverse is not a regular game to be judged by the same rules. It’s an insane unleashed parody with some decent gameplay and indecent everything else. No, we don’t recommend you a blunt before playing: the developers have already prepared some. Just install Subverse and play around!
